CHINMA ASOGWO Most Outstnding RBA Participant 2008

When I was called upon to write this piece, it occured to me that it would seem trite to call this just an experience when it has mean so much more to me; I chose instead to tag it my journey and transition into self-realization and actualization.

I attended the RBA on the prompting of an Aunt. On arrival at the academy, I was delighted to note the level of professionalism and comfort; things were not being done in slip-shod manner. With the assistance of the extremely helpful staff, I settled into a session just to be awakened to the knowledge that it was going to be a high impact interactive one, I was being mentally challenged here! The facilitators were top echelon business and training executives, people at the top of there careers, who had been there and had thorough and detailed knowledge of what they were talking about.

After the impartation of knowledge during which I was aided to unlock the latent ability in me re-affirming Robert Collier's "It's only through your conscious mind that you can reach the subconscious..."; it was not over yet, we went ahead and role-played, re-enacting scenarios based on what we had been taught; and then on to the most interactive Connecting Ideas segment-discussing a particular industry, pointing out areas where it could improve in customer service hence be more effective. To cut it short I understood the wisdom in Denise Levertov's "Very few people really see things unless they had someone early in life that made them look at things..." RISE turned out to be the "someone" who helped me see things better.

I left the place a person more aware, more informed and definely better empowered. I felt that now I was truly on my way to otaining the KSAN (Knowledgde, Skills, Attitude, and Networking) abilities; with a smile on my face and ideas buzzing in my head, I left determined to be back for more.

I want to close this by saying that RISE enabled me realize my innate potential givng me home.
